Greetings from Western Pennsylvania!
The weather is rather unpleasant at the moment. We’re in the middle of a mild winter storm; The results of which are horrid travel conditions. I live just off of a main road which bisects the city of Greensburg. If you happen to be from the Greensburg/Pittsburgh area you might recognize the street name. It’s a little thoroughfare I like to call US Route 30. Yeah, that would be a US Highway. You might think my street would be clear considering it intersects a major highway, but I suppose life would be less interesting if my morning commute was a little less perilous.
Other states endure more sever weather than we are experiencing at the moment. We don’t get snow like Buffalo NY. The difference most of those states actually seem to have a handle on the situation. Our snow removal efforts aren’t very effective. Or, maybe we’re just not consistent at applying those methods. Oh well. The end result is ineffective and inconsistent removal of winter hazards like snow and ice from local neighborhood side-streets and major US highways.
