Obama to ‘bend’ on healthcare

Every morning before I go to work, I go downstairs to retrieve the morning edition of the local newspaper. In truth there is only one daily edition of the local paper, but I like the way that sounds.

I make every effort not to notice any headline which might spoil my morning. I don’t mind a brief look at disaster coverage or even a short human interest story but politics are out of the question. This morning I could not help but notice a headline that ruined my day.

The headline read Obama to bend on health. Follow the link to read the Bloomberg News story as presented by the Pittsburgh tribune Review. Here is an excerpt:

President Obama and House Democratic lawmakers signaled a willingness to scale back legislation overhauling the health care system, a day after the party suffered a defeat in a Massachusetts Senate race.

Pittsburgh Tribune Review

Thank you Mr. Obama. or should I say “shame on you” for demonstrating for us, The people of the United States, that our greatest victories are ultimately just stage dressing for a defeat of epic grandeur.

Shame on all the “law makers” and politicians who had the last best chance at establishing Universal health care for the American people and somehow managed to create … nothing.
